Today marked a significant milestone in Taita County as recruitment for various job opportunities in Dubai officially commenced. The event, which began early in the day, provided a platform for local residents to access essential services from government officials, including those from the Huduma Center and KCB Bank.

Shadrack Mwadime, the Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development, addressed a gathering of pastors from the Voi region during a meeting aimed at empowering the youth. He underscored the critical need to dispel prevalent misconceptions regarding the mistreatment and dangers faced by individuals seeking employment in Dubai.

Mwadime clarified that many of those who encounter difficulties often take unauthorized routes to the Gulf country. He urged all individuals aspiring to work abroad to strictly adhere to government regulations and procedures. "I urge you pastors to guide them effectively so they can succeed in interviews," stated Mr. Mwadime, emphasizing the role of clergy in preparing the youth for the job market.

The Principal Secretary also highlighted the alarming issue of Kenyans facing mistreatment due to their involvement with unscrupulous recruitment agencies. He stressed the importance of utilizing registered agencies to ensure a smoother recruitment process and proper government oversight.
